Build the spritz
- Fill a large wine glass with ice, creating a frosty base where the bubbles can rise. Aim for enough ice that the glass feels cold to the touch.
- Pour in Aperol and chilled apple cider, then let them cascade over the ice. The drink should start turning a soft orange color as it meets the cold.
- Top with chilled prosecco and sparkling water, keeping the pour gentle to preserve carbonation. You should see lively bubbles immediately near the surface.
- Stir gently once to combine, just enough to unify the color without flattening the fizz. Stop as soon as the mixture looks evenly blended.
- Garnish with the thin apple slice and cinnamon stick, then serve right away. The garnish should sit inside the glass where it’s visible to the camera and at the first sip.
Notes
For best flavor and maximum sparkle, use chilled apple cider and prosecco and build the spritz immediately after pouring. Refrigerate leftover apple cider separately (not the finished spritz) for up to 3 days; freezing is not recommended. For a lower-sugar option, use a lower-sugar prosecco or sparkling wine without changing the method.
